davey101 yazdı:I have an aeropostale watch with a nice big "Aeropostale" decal right across the dial. Not a fan. After messing up the dial on a fake rolex , I decided to take my time on this dial.
However I was lazy and left the hands on, so I had to move them to the lower part of the dial and avoid touching them. Q-Tips can easily rip off any loose pieces with all there fibers, so lookout. As you can see in some of my pictures I moved around the metal surrounds on the numerals. A little glue and they were back in place.
Before:
Materials:
Q-Tips (I used 4, both ends)
Rubbing Alcohol or Lighter Fuel
Bottle Cap or a small cup
Eye Glass Screwdriver
Start by holding the dial in one hand, and using a q-tip dipped in either alcohol or lighter fuel lightly rub the decal with the wet tip at a 90 degree angle to the dial. I decided to use lighter fuel as it was handy. Alcohol evaporates quite quickly, so a cap or tiny bowl filled with fluid makes re-wetting the tip easier. Also keep in mind that a Q-Tip is made up of a paper stick, with cotton balls on the end. What this means is that this stick can scratch the surface of a dial, but it can also be used to lightly rub off the decal. When the tip becomes wet the cotton ball is no longer fluffy and the tip can scratch even easier, so be extra careful. I was tempted to angle the tip and scratch the decal off, but this can ruin the dial, so be persistent with the rubbing.
After a minute or so of rubbing it should begin to give way
After 5 minutes

heres where the screwdriver comes in handy. My dial had a weave pattern, and so some of the ink stuck in some spots. Being extremely careful, I was able to scratch teh surface of these spots until they gave way and allowed me to rub all the ink off
At this point my q-tips were all black. I was able to cut the black bits off during the rubbing and they became fresh again. After all of the decal was off, a good rub down with a new tip and some fuel, and all the ink was gone.
